We have covered a lot of useful screenshot taking tools, such as GreenShot and Shotty,
which let you take screenshots of your complete desktop screen, a
particular window or a select region. Today, we bring to you a
lightweight and portable screenshot tool, called Screen Capture + Print, that provides you with three options after taking a screenshot;
Print, Copy to Clipboard, and Save to File. The application is capable
of capturing selected region, full screen, a single window or content
inside a window. It supports capturing desktops with multi-monitor
display, as well as transparent windows and regions. The image can be
copied to clipboard and used directly from it, without having to save it
in a file first. The saved area can be saved to a file in JPG, PNG,
BMP, GIF and TIF formats. More about Screen Capture + Print after the
break.
The application runs in the system tray, and different screenshot capturing methods can be accessed by right-clicking its icon. It provides you with Capture Rectangle (region capture), Capture Desktop (complete desktop) and Capture Window (a window or its content) screenshot methods to choose from.
Once you take a screenshot, a dialog box pops up, allowing you to choose to copy the image to clipboard, directly print it, or save it to a file. The image format chosen while saving the screenshot will be set as default for the subsequent screenshots.
The Capture Desktop screenshot method has full support for desktops with multi-monitor displays.
Even though the application works without any glitches and includes all the necessary options, the lack of hot key support is a huge draw back of Screen Capture + Print. We hope that the developer includes hot key support in the next release. It has a memory footprint of around 13 MB, and works on all version of Windows.
