"Elementary OS" also known as "Jupiter" is a beautiful Linux distribution
which is based on Ubuntu. Initially it was a set of themes and
applications designed for Ubuntu but recently they have launched their
own Linux distro.
It comes with an awesome interface along with almost all essentials applications. It comes with a cool dock called "Docky".
Lots of unnecessary daemons and services have been removed which makes it lot faster when compared to Ubuntu upon which it has been built.
