We have previously covered some very useful image editors, such as PixBuilder and Artweaver Free, which provide you with handy toolbars and useful tools for editing images. Today, we have PhotoFiltre, a complete image retouching portable application that lets you perform basic and advanced editing of images, as well as apply a wide range of filters. It hosts a simple GUI, enabling users to easily learn and start using the complete assortment of tools.
The application offers two types of selection methods; automatic shapes
such as rectangle, triangle, ellipse etc, and lasso & polygon.
PhotoFiltre is capable of performing batch operation on images,
including conversion, image resizing and framing. More on PhotoFiltre

The interface has File, Edit, Image, Selection, Adjust, Filter, View and Tools menus available at the top. There is a toolbar containing basic image adjustment controls for increasing and decreasing Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Gamma Correct, and applying filters, such as Soften, Blur, Sharpen, Reinforce etc. Different types of tool are available in the right side of the application, such as Color Control, Selection Tool, Magic Wand tool, Spray Tool, Fill Tool, Clone Stamp Tool, Paintbrush Tool, etc.
The File menu allows you to open new images and save & print them once they are edited, while Edit contains options such as Cut, Copy, Paste, Paste Special etc. Image menu has options for Flipping, Rotating and Duplicating the image, as well as Image Resize and Canvas Resize options. The Adjust menu offers controls for Brightness, Contrast, Hue, Saturation, Color Balance, Swap RGB Channel, Replace Color etc.
The Filter tab has a vast range of filters available, including Soften, Sharpen, Noise, Noise, Relief, Visual Effect, Stylize, Frame, Texture, etc.
Preferences window can be accessed from Tools menu. It has parameters for specifying the default Opening folder, Saving folder and toggling Lock folders and Unique folder for opening and saving options.
The Automate/Batch window in Tools menu has batch options to convert, resize, adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, gamma correction, apply filters and frames, rotate, and flip images.
Apart from all the useful features, PhotoFiltre lacks layer support, which can be an important addition by the developer in the next release.
